Scholarship Program

Bailey County Electric will award scholarships of $1,000 each for a period up to two years at the end of May. These scholarships are being made available through Bailey County Electric Cooperative and Muleshoe State Bank.

ELIGIBILITY & PROCEDURES

  1. 4-Bailey County Electric Cooperative scholarships are open only to:
    (1) Students whose parent, parents or guardian live in the area and have received electric service from the Cooperative for at least one year.
    (2) The student must be going to attend school full time with a minimum of 4-courses or 12-hours.
  2. Selection Process:
    (1) A need for financial help.
    (2) Having a desire to go and are of college material.
    (3) Grades will be considered, but not a deciding factor.
  3. Recipients may choose to attend any accredited College, University, Junior/Comunity College, Trade/Technical School, or Business School.
  4. Courses must be taken in credit towards a degree, certificate, diploma, or license awarded by the educational institution.
  5. Applications must be received by April 5, 2011.
  6. $250.00 of the amount of each award will be made payable to the recipient, at the beginning of the first and third semester or fall terms of each of the two years, and $250.00 of each award will be issued at the beginning of the second and fourth semester or the spring terms of each of the two years. (Provided that the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and presents a copy of his/her grades and credits and is attending school full time/12 hours.
  7. We do not propose to limit the number of scholarships to any one school, provided the students are eligible; but distribution will be as wide as practicable. The student must be a graduate of a school that is accredited by Texas Education Agency.
  8. Bailey County Electric will award a scholarship check to an individual only once. If for any reason the check must be voided, the check will not be reissued.
