Youth Tour Rules

GOVERNMENT-IN-ACTION YOUTH TOUR RULES

Be the successful candidate during “The Youth Tour Interview” and you could win an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., with other winners from across the State of Texas. The trip is June 10-18, 2011. We will select two winners from the area high schools.

Eligibility

  • You must have completed your sophomore year or be a junior or senior and not older than 19 by June 8, 2011.
  • Contest Rules:
    participants will be required to appear before an independent panel of judges to discuss the following topics:

  • Why should I be chosen as Bailey Country Electric Cooperative’s delegate to the 2011 Youth Tour.
  • Why do I want to go to my Nation’s Capital?
  • What is a Cooperative?
  • What it means to me to have Bailey Country Electric Cooperative make this trip available.
  • Participants will have 5-7 minutes of interview time.
    Judges will have the opportunity to ask questions(hint: know and understand cooperatives).

    Judging:
    Participants will be chosen based on how well they “sell themselves” to the judges by answering the four questions listed above (80 percent) and on their speaking ability, appearance and poise (20 percent).
